Five New Case Studies!

The Justice in Schools team has produced five new case studies exploring issues ranging from mandated reporting to sex education.  Written by students from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, these cases center on dilemmas that can challenge both new teachers as well as veterans.

  • "Punishing Choices" deals with how the challenges a teacher faces when deciding how to deal with suspicions of abuse.
     
  • "Student Transgressions" explores what it means to support a student who seems to be questioning their gender identity.

    "Straying from the Flock" centers on a health teacher who must decide whether or not to honor the question of a student or the wishes of her parents who opted their daughter out of sex education.
     
  • "SEALing Off Central High" investigates the new challenges teachers and school leaders confront in the social media age.
     
  • "The Job Search" revolves around a group of educators discussing what it means to teach for social justice.
